Active churches spread their emphasis across a wide range of activities --
the most pronounced being:
- Corporate worship, where the family of God comes together for a time of
prayer, song, reading of scripture, preaching and the Holy sacraments
- Education -- a time when participants delve into and learn more about
scriptures and the key components of their faith. This is also a period
where participants get to discuss with others issues that concern or challenge
their Christian faith.
- Mission -- times when the church gives of time, money and spirit to help
others from within our own neighborhoods or around the world.
- Play -- just as the name implies, period when we as Christ believers gather
together to simply enjoy each other and appreciate the blessings God has
individually and collectively given us.
Fellowship has a long history in each of these areas. Every Sunday
morning following the 10:00 worship hour, believers gather together to learn
more about their faith and often participate in discussion groups that challenge
to better fulfill Christ's command that we become disciples.
Fellowship's education program more or less parallels the school year, with
classes meeting during fall, winter and spring months and then with limited
activities during the summer. Formal classes meet in the church's
education building and are:
